It isn’t always easy to make the right choices when it comes to our health and our futures, especially when we are focusing on becoming badass side hustling babes.
I find that when I am mostly focusing on StephanieCristi, Tutor in Tinseltown, and school, I begin to lose focus of my personal goals and personal care – and that isn’t healthy either!
Balancing personal growth and a side hustle can sometimes prove difficult, though, which is why I write about it so often. What might seem right at the time, may not be so great for the future and vice versa. However, all we can do is make decisions based on our circumstances and what we truly want out of life. With that in mind, here are some of the self care decisions that many of us may need to face sooner or later in our lives.

Balancing personal growth and a side hustle when you want to: start a family
Now, I don’t know about you, but being 28 years old, I tend to get the “when will we be getting a new baby in the family?” fairly often. There always seems to be a lot of pressure on women, especially when we get to a certain age and are in a settled relationship, to start having children.
But do you even want children?
This is a question that only you can answer, and how you answer it will impact your professional work and side hustle, and vice versa.
The truth is, there will probably never be a perfect time to have kids, but just make sure that whatever you choose fits into your personal goals as well as your side hustle goals. This means having the right contraception methods in place while you don’t want to start a family and looking at lifestyle changes if and when you decide to take that next step.
Balancing personal growth and a side hustle when you want to: pursue your goals in life
The next thing to think about would be whether you are going for your goals in life beyond your side hustle. Now don’t get me wrong: I love my blogs and tutoring ventures. But there is more to life than blogging and making money online!
And this will be personal to you. You might have goals to do with your fitness and health, your career, or even goals for meeting someone and settling down. It is always a good idea to check in with your goals every once in a while.
Make sure they are still relevant to your life and checking to see whether there are things you can do now that will take you a step closer to achieving them.
Balancing personal growth and a side hustle when you want to: change career paths
Sometimes we get to the stage where our career is our focus. If you’re anything like me, you probably graduated from school and just fell into a job for the sake of paying the bills.
But I challenge you to take a look at your job – whether it’s a full time, part-time, or even if your blog is your full-time job – and really ask yourself if this is what you would love to be spending at least a quarter of your day on. If you can get to a stage in life where you are more aware of what you are passionate about, this may lead to a new career option or even turning your small side hustle into a formally registered business and working for yourself.
However you decide to go about it, make sure it is a conscious decision for your health and happiness as well as your financial goals and side hustle.
Balancing personal growth and a side hustle when you want to: maintain physical and mental health
Finally, many of us know the importance of taking care of ourselves, but are you doing everything you can to be more responsible for your physical and mental health? Chances are high that there is more you could be doing to help yourself have a healthier future. Eating healthy, exercising often, and consistently practicing mental health check-ins with yourself are just some of the things that you can do to feel healthier and happier.
Let’s hope that being more aware of your choices and the decisions you may have to make helps you to have a healthier and happier future.
But I want to hear from you! How do you help ensure you are keeping a healthy balance between your personal care and your side hustle goals? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
