Top Exciting Things to Do in Mallorca

StephanieCristi shares a list of things to do in Mallorca, Spain. If you're planning a trip to Palma, Mallorca, be sure to check out these attractions!
When you hear Spain, you probably think of Barcelona, Madrid, or Valencia. Maybe you’ve even visited some of these cities?
But let me ask you something, what about Mallorca?
Mallorca is an incredible island with a unique history, culture, and even language (don’t worry though, they do speak Spanish as well!) that will make for an incredible trip.
So let’s talk about some of the top things to do in Mallorca for your next trip. 🙂

Tour the cathedral

Europe is steeped with centuries of royal and religious history, and Mallorca is no different.
Palma’s cathedral, La Seu, is absolutely a sight to behold, not only because of its gothic architecture but because of its dominant presence on the small island.
With its incredible art and high ceilings, you can’t help but feel small as you walk by it and through it.

Shopping

As with any hot travel destination, you’ll find great places to shop in Mallorca.
From the Passeig des Born, the ‘Rodeo Drive’ of Palma, to shopping malls, you’ll be sure to come back home with some great new finds.
I know I always get compliments on my clothes, shoes, and jewelry from Mallorca.

Majorica Pearls Factory Shop, Manacor

Mallorca is even home to the original factory of Majorica pearls. Not only do they have a short tour where you can see how they’re made and their prominence throughout history, but you can get some beautiful jewelry at great prices.
The services this factory store offers include:
  • Tax-free shopping
  • Coffee-bar
  • Free parking
  • Open daily (including public holidays)
  • Free Shuttle service from your hotel (book your visit by phone)

Drach Caves

This was one of my favorite sights on my recent trip to Mallorca.
The Drach Caves is an ancient underground tunnel of caves shaped by thousands of years of water movement breaking away at the rock formations.
Not only does it make for great photographs, but you’ll also get a bit of an archeology and geology lesson thrown in 🙂

Bonus tip:

When it comes to new things to do in Mallorca, tiny local eateries are the best way to get a taste of the local cuisine.
I had my first Frito and caracoles in a restaurant outside Llorito, the town my grandfather grew up in, and I still dream of going back there.
