It’s been quite a while since I made some serious time for self care but I finally went ahead and did it.
I searched for a DevaCut expert near me and made my appointment.
DevaCut is a method of cutting curly hair when it’s dry.
Cutting curly hair while wet not only leads to shrinkage once the hair dries and curls up, but also masks the texture of individual strands and leads to uneven looking styles.
So today was the day!
I got a haircut and drastically changed up my style.
To be honest, I wasn’t going to write a blog post about this. I didn’t think it worthy of a blog entry. I figured that at most I’d do a before and after on Twitter and Instagram.
But then I talked to the lovely JadeMarie.
She reminded me that sometimes, something we find menial can be useful to our readers. So I began thinking about how this could be helpful to you guys and I really hope you do find stuff like this worth reading.
Long curly hair with straight bangs
So without further ado, before my haircut, my hair wasn’t curling very much.
It was very hydrated and soft due to my hair care routine, but just too long and not very curly.
Plus my split ends were seriously out of control.
So to really change my look, beyond my newly revitalized and plumped curls, I also opted for some straight bangs.
I’d never really been able to pull off this look since the brutal Miami weather had always frizzed up my hair within minutes of leaving the house.
But the California life has given me a second chance at some cute long curly hair with straight bangs.
I am so excited to take care of my new style!
It’s amazing how a new haircut (or lipstick ?) will make you want to reinvest in yourself and your looks.
For anyone out there with long curly hair wishing they could have bangs… Go for it!
I think straight bangs (both in the style of cutting them and the way you style them) look mega cute with long curls.
What do you think, curly girls?
Would you rock some long curly hair with straight bangs?

With all my love,
